Pauletta Washington was first introduced to Dinorah Delfin’s iconic 3D pixelated artwork during a visit to her neighbor Lionel Richie’s home in Beverly Hills, CA. Struck by the artwork’s futuristic aesthetic and optical illusion-like dimensionality, she reached out to Richie for an introduction to the artist. Deeply moved by Delfin’s innovative style and its emotional depth, Pauletta commissioned a portrait of her husband, the legendary Oscar-winning actor Denzel Washington, as a Valentine's anniversary gift.

The resulting piece, HYBRID DENZEL, was created using Delfin’s signature hybrid technique—an intricate fusion of laser-cut sculptural layers, digital composition, and hand-painted details.
